• Employment as a Crystal Springs waived special education teacher
• Enrollment in an approved educator preparation program for severe disabilities
• Demonstration of continuous progress in second (and subsequent) years
• Evaluation rating of "Needs Improvement" or higher in the preceding school year

As directed by the special education teacher, you ll be responsible for the following:

• Assisting the assigned students with educational and therapeutic services
• Providing compassionate direct care to assigned students during classroom time, including eating, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Monitoring students  progress and providing input to the special education teacher during evaluation periods (quarterly reports, six-month reviews, etc.)
• Learning about Massachusetts curriculum frameworks
• Helping the special education teacher maintain accurate student records
• Leading activities and direct care services on teacher planning days
