Job Description
The LGT Capital Partners Private Equity Summer Internship Program is a unique opportunity for top performing students to gain first experience across the entire private equity investment process. The successful candidate would start 1 July 2027 for 10 – 12 weeks. For high performers a progression to a permanent role or the Private Equity Analyst Program is a possibility. The position is available in Switzerland near Zurich.
The Capital Solutions Investment Team offers a distinctive and supportive platform for candidates who want to build a career in private equity by gaining exposure to direct company-level investments and secondary transactions across leading businesses, portfolio assets and private equity structures. You will join a team of experienced investment professionals focused on identifying and investing in high-quality businesses through secondary transactions and direct minority investments.

Since 2015, the firm has also built a strong direct minority investment practice, investing more than USD 5bn across over 65 direct investments. In this role, you will gain exposure to the full private equity investment process across industries, geographies and transaction types, with support from colleagues who are committed to knowledge sharing and development.
Direct equity secondaries, including equity recaps and follow-on financing; GP-led secondaries, such as single-asset and multi-asset continuation vehicles; and LP-led secondaries, acquiring well-diversified and high-quality private equity portfolios. The internship will provide you with valuable insights into our business and hands-on experience.
- Support financial, market and business due diligence processes, including research, analysis and coordination of selected transaction work streams.
- Contribute to the preparation of investment memoranda, including company analysis, valuation work and selected financial modelling tasks.
- Assist with valuation, modelling and analysis of private equity funds and portfolio assets.
- Support investment committee and team discussions by preparing analyses, materials and discussion inputs.
- Participate in management meetings where appropriate, and assist with investment monitoring activities.
- Help identify and assess attractive investment opportunities by conducting research and maintaining internal databases, systems and tools.
- Prepare materials for internal meetings and external client presentations, and support ad-hoc market analysis.
- Strong academic credentials, currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in business, economics, finance, accounting or another quantitative field, ideally in your penultimate year of study with expected graduation in summer 2027 or 2028.
- First practical experience through internships or student jobs in finance, investment banking, private equity, consulting or a related field is an advantage.
- A solid understanding of financial statements, valuation concepts and fundamental business analysis.
- A strong motivation to learn about private equity, investment analysis and transaction execution across direct and secondary investment opportunities.
- Curiosity, analytical thinking and willingness to work with both quantitative and qualitative information on private equity funds and portfolio companies.
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
- A collaborative, organized and proactive mindset, with eagerness to contribute and learn in a fast-paced investment environment.
