Cost Accountant

What to Expect

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Cost Accountant with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment to join our Warranty Cost Accounting Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warranty costs, analyzing warranty data, and ensuring accurate financial reporting related to warranty liabilities.

• Support the warranty cost calculation particularly in remanufacturing context
• Responsible for setting up the standard cost for labor overhead and bill of material of the remanufactured products
• Analyze and monitor warranty reliability data provided by engineering team to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for cost reduction
• Maintain warranty reserve model for powertrain products and ensure they align with company policies and accounting standards
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including cell engineering, quality reliability, remanufacturing and service team, to address warranty‑related issues and improve accounting close cycle
• Prepare month‑end warranty related JEs and account reconciliation, support internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls and relevant accounting principles under US GAAP

• Degree in Accounting or related area, ideally for CPA, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years’ experience in Cost Accounting preferably in a large manufacturing environment with evidence of exceptional ability
• Ability to understand the manufacturing environment and the associated financial processes; knowledge of supply chain, receiving, inventory flow, operations process and manufacturing principles
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
• Ability to multi‑task and drive actions to completion under strict deadlines
• Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships with other teams within Finance as well as cross‑functionally outside Finance to effectively make recommendations, implement process improvements, etc.

$64,000 - $138,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
