Position Summary Mattson Technology, Inc. is seeking a Payroll & General Ledger Sr. Accountant to oversee U.S. payroll operations and key General Ledger activities. This position will oversee payroll for approximately 180 salaried and non-salaried employees while supporting journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, payroll accounting, and internal controls.

The role requires hands-on experience with ADP, Oracle, and SAP and will serve as a key interface between Payroll, HR, Finance, and Accounting.

Key Responsibilities Payroll
· Full own the end-to-end U.S. payroll for approximately 180 employees, including regular, supplemental, bonus, and special payrolls.
· Review hours, earnings, deductions, benefits, taxes, PTO, and other payroll inputs.
· Perform pre- and post-payroll audits and resolve discrepancies.
· Coordinate with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Accounting to ensure accurate and timely payroll.
· Maintain payroll procedures, documentation, controls, and process improvements.
· Support federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance, including multi-state withholding, unemployment, W-2/W-2C, filings, and deposits.

General Ledger & Payroll Accounting
· Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll, benefits, accruals, prepaid expenses, taxes, and other accounts.
· Reconcile payroll registers, payroll liabilities, benefits, and payroll expenses to the General Ledger.
· Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
· Analyze payroll and accounting variances and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
· Maintain accurate documentation and provide support for internal and external audits.

Systems & Process Improvement
· Serve as a key business owner/SME for ADP, Oracle, and SAP, including payroll and accounting interfaces.
· Troubleshoot system and data issues with IT and external providers.
· Support system upgrades, implementations, testing, and process improvements.
· Identify opportunities to automate payroll, reconciliations, reporting, and accounting processes.

Supervision & Controls
· Supervise and provide direction to a payroll processor in Malaysia, including work priorities, deadlines, quality, and training.
