Inside Higher Ed is hiring part‑time faculty for the Library Science – Reference and Instruction program. This role is for temporary teaching assignments, including day, evening, and weekend courses in‑person, online, or hybrid.

Ohlone College seeks faculty who have a passion for teaching and learning and a strong commitment to community‑college missions. Duties and Responsibilities- Teach Library Science courses following post‑secondary level outlines.
- Evaluate student work with clear criteria and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records (grades, syllabi, attendance) by deadlines.
- Create an equity‑based, welcoming classroom environment.
- Perform duties per Board policy, UF‑O provisions, Faculty Handbook, and as assigned at campus, Newark Center, eCampus, or other sites.
- Master’s degree in Library Science, Library and Information Science, or equivalent.
- Commitment to equity‑based, anti‑racist, culturally diverse community‑college goals.
- Evidence of responsiveness to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of students.
- Community‑college teaching experience desired.
- Innovative teaching methods encouraging engagement.
- Experience creating equitable syllabi and inclusive practices.
- Experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American, and other minoritized students.
- Computer technology proficiency, including course‑management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team‑work abilities.
