Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Line Lead, Optimus
Join us as a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer and help manufacture “the machine that builds the machine.” In this role, you’ll drive the development of efficient, high-quality manufacturing lines and processes for Optimus and Energy Products at our Fremont factory. From early design through full‑scale production, you’ll work with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment to shape the future of AI robotics and energy technology.
WhatYou'll Do
- Develop and validate manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and processes to support early‑stage prototype builds
- Determine and procure equipment that is necessary for all manufacturing processes used to build the product
- Work with equipment integrators to design and manufacture equipment and fixtures for medium to high‑volume production
- Manage suppliers during specification, design, buy‑off and installation of manufacturing equipment
- Perform process analysis, DOE, PFMEA, line balancing activities, and capacity modeling/simulation
- Provide DFM (design for manufacturability) input to design team for process and yield improvements
- Create detailed manufacturing instructions to train technicians and line operators on new processes and equipment
- Solid experience as a hands‑on Mechanical/Manufacturing/Design Engineer working on mechanical and/or electromechanical systems
- Experience using 2D CAD tools for conceptual line design (AutoCAD) and 3D design for mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling (Solid Works or CATIA)
- Experience with conveyance, transducer‑based fastening systems (Atlas Copco preferred), robotic systems (Fanuc or Kuka preferred), adhesive dispensing, laser welding or automated functional testing
- Experience creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment
- Experience providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Automation (DFA)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience

$116,000 – $198,000 annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
