Collaborating closely with suppliers and internal stakeholder teams, you will provide real-time problem-solving to customer challenges and to enhance our products. Your passion for innovative engineering drives progress in our industry, tackling the once unsolvable.

In this highly visible role, you will collaborate with Lam’s product group to proactively identify, triage, and resolve quality issues, serving as a connection between the product group and the supplier engineering organization cessful candidates will also define, develop, and execute qualification plans for new parts and manufacturing technologies, enabling product differentiation for Lam’s portfolio.

What you'll do
  • Drive part development, production qualification, and implement quality plans at suppliers across the global Lam supplier network.
  • Lead product development projects from product prototyping, development, deployment/product release, and initial field support.
  • Independently design and conduct experiments, tests, and prototypes to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Coach and provide guidance to suppliers to implement recommended experiments.
  • Present analysis and support technical recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to guide the specification and development of products.
  • Provide technical support for installation and/or diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex product issues.
  • Work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fab environment.
Who we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, with 12 years' experience; or 8 years' experience with a Master's degreel or a PhD with 5+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and experimental design skills.
  • Experience with failure analysis using a diverse toolset of materials characterization techniques (microscopy, thermal and mechanical analysis, spectroscopy, etc.).
  • Demonstrated creative thinking, problem solving, troubleshooting capabilities, and resiliency.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time.
