Linux Administrator

Responsibilities & Skills

• Setting up and configuring Linux servers and workstations.
• Continuously monitoring system performance, applying updates, and performing backups.
• Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect systems and data.
• Managing user accounts, permissions, and access control.
• Identifying and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations and procedures.
• Working with other IT staff to support and enhance the overall IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and the command-line interface (CLI).
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and system management.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes
• Understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and services.
• Apply security best practices, including firewall management, intrusion detection, and access control.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware or KVM.
• Knowledge of storage technologies (RAID, SAN, NAS).
• Ability to use tools to monitor system performance and identify potential issues.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, especially when dealing with urgent issues
