Position

Summary

IEM is currently seeking a Production Planning/Scheduler for our Fremont, CA location, and will report to the Manufacturing Manager. This is an on-site role. The Production Planning/Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules that align with customer requirements, material availability, and manufacturing capacity. This role ensures efficient workflow across fabrication, assembly, and shipping operations, utilizing ERP tools to optimize production efficiency and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on order priorities, material readiness, and work center capacity.
  • Coordinate with Production, Fabrication, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of schedules with available resources.
  • Review customer orders, validate ship dates, and ensure alignment with published lead times.
  • Manage schedule adjustments for expedited orders, delays, or material shortages, ensuring proactive communication with stakeholders.
  • Utilize ERP (INFOR preferred) to plan, monitor, and adjust manufacturing activities.
  • Analyze resource and material availability to identify bottlenecks and constraints.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Materials Planning to ensure timely material flow to production lines.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings to synchronize schedules with purchasing, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance scheduling accuracy, reduce lead times, and improve throughput.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kanban, visual management, and standardized work.
  • Support the adoption of best practices for ERP utilization and production reporting.
  • Serve as the communication link between production, planning, materials, and customer service teams.
  • Escalate capacity or delivery risks promptly to the Production Planning Manager.
  • Support coordination of schedule changes due to design modifications or supply delays.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (required).
  • 3–7 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations coordination in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (INFOR experience preferred).
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing processes, lean principles, and capacity planning.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promo table with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast‑paced, high‑growth organization.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with cross‑functional teams.

Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $108,000
