Job Description

JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to independently execute routine and complex unit operations in Purification. The role involves operating and maintaining equipment, performing in‑process testing, monitoring critical parameters, and ensuring compliance with cGMP standards. The technician will also train junior staff, collaborate across teams, and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute routine unit operations in Purification, including change‑over procedures, scheduling within the shift team, equipment cleaning, and set‑up.
  • Perform in‑process testing such as cell counting, spectrophotometry, and environmental monitoring.
  • Monitor and control weights, flows, volumes, temperatures, pressure, and pH during manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and report issues related to manufacturing performance, process, and safety; assist in investigations of deviations to support continuous improvement.
  • Train junior staff on unit operations including bioreactors, cell separation, chromatography, tangential flow theory, and CIP/SIP operations, with emphasis on safety and timely completion.
  • Collaborate within team and department to follow best practices and achieve departmental goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, cGMPs, and safety standards by reporting issues promptly to management.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives through troubleshooting and proactive problem‑solving.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with established GMP procedures and bulk manufacturing preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing systems, methods, and procedures.
  • Understanding of purification and cell culture processes.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills with equipment and/or processes.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and train others effectively.
EDUCATION

Preferred:
Associate’s degree with at least 1 year of closely related technical experience, ideally in a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment.
