CNC Horizontal Mill Setup Machinist

Schedule:
Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:35 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Horizontal Mill Setup Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery in a production environment. The ideal candidate can read blueprints, interpret engineering specifications, troubleshoot machining issues, and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and tolerance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery using blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Set up and run multiple machines while maintaining production quality and efficiency.
• Inspect and measure finished parts using precision measuring and inspection tools.
• Troubleshoot tooling, material, program, equipment, and part specification issues.
• Document machining processes, setup procedures, and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve machinability and recommend changes to part specifications when appropriate.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC horizontal mill setup experience.
• Experience with Matsuura machines and/or FANUC controls preferred.
• Machining certification or completion of a full apprenticeship program.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in inspecting parts and using precision measuring tools.
• Ability to set up and operate multiple machines.
• Basic math, written communication, and computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
