Company Overview
Chrisp Company, specializing in the highway improvement construction industry for over 40 years, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our Fremont, California shop.
Summary
As a Diesel Mechanic at Chrisp Company, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems.
Shift- Monday – Friday
- 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm (overtime as necessary)
- $35.00 - $40.00 per hour (depending on experience)

- Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment mounted on trucks
- Diagnosing and resolving issues in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine system.
- Support 90-day DOT compliance inspections and perform fluid services as required.
- Drive facility service truck for field repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- Consent to a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and drug test as part of the pre-employment screening process
- Maintain a driving record that meets the standards of our insurance provider
- Routinely moves equipment weighing 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills to be able to use fleet management software
- Willing to work overtime when needed
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience with manual milling and lathe operations is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver license.
- Detailed oriented with a positive attitude and aptitude
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Takes responsibility and ensures the job is completed
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment to test and trouble‑shoot for proper operation before and after maintenance.
