Camera Vision Software EngineerJob Description
Responsible for developing and implementing computer vision algorithms to solve specific problems using image and video processing, feature extraction, object detection and tracking, and semantic segmentation. Leverages techniques such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs), deep learning, and traditional computer vision algorithms to develop robust and accurate solutions. Optimizes and fine-tunes computer vision models to improve their performance. Integrates computer vision solutions into applications and systems.
Curates and annotates datasets, ensuring the availability of high-quality labeled data for training computer vision models. Plans and conducts tests to measure the performance of models in terms of accuracy, speed, and resource utilization. Analyzes results and provide insights for further improvements and optimizations.
Designs, develops, and implements models for tasks such as defect detection, facial recognition, and object tracking. Responsibilities include coding and testing neural network architectures, preprocessing and augmenting image datasets, tuning model parameters for accuracy and speed, and conducting data annotation. Analyzes model performance using metrics like precision and recall, experiments with architectures such as vision transformers, and optimizes inference for deployment on mobile or embedded hardware.
The role involves developing and refining algorithms using platforms like Tensor Flow or OpenCV, writing and maintaining production-quality code, performing ablation studies, and documenting technical processes. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams ensures system integration and troubleshooting, while regular evaluation and improvement of models maintain high accuracy and efficiency within engineering projects.
The focus of the job is on equipment control for the semiconductor business. The primary area of work is C# programming with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022, targeting Windows 10, Linux operating systems. The projects all involve embedded software control of robotic and other motion related hardware. In addition, machine vision and machine learning technologies are being incorporated into the system. The following specific tasks will be performed during the project life cycle.
- Gather requirements, write requirement specification, and get spec reviewed by team.
- Write design specification, and get spec reviewed by team.
- Implement the design with C#/C++ programming, and get code reviewed by team.
- Design test cases, and run unit testing over software emulation and on hardware.
- Integrate software component to overall system, and perform SQA testing.
- Work with rest of team, including ME, EE and SW engineers in system level integration.
- Document release features and application notes for customers.
- Support customers in their software integration, and in handling field escalations.
- Participate in team reviews on specs, on code, on documentation and on test-cases.
