Full-Time Elementary Substitute Teacher - Regular Teacher Contract and Benefits
Fremont Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Elementary Substitute Teacher for the 2025/2026 school year. The role will ultimately lead to a regular classroom assignment. Candidates will receive a regular teacher contract with full pay, benefits, and professional development opportunities.
FPS is a progressive Class A District offering a competitive salary and benefits package, with opportunities to grow professionally. The district is located in Fremont, NE, 25 minutes northwest of Omaha and 45 minutes north of Lincoln.
Job DescriptionThe position is part of the Teaching Department and reports to the Building Administrator. Responsibilities include lesson planning, classroom management, student assessment, collaboration with colleagues, and participation in professional development.
Eligibility Requirements- Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree
- Certification/Licensure: Nebraska Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement and level for area and grade.
- Experience Desired: Experience working with students during college training or in previous teaching roles.
- Other Requirements: Good human relations skills, ability to work with students, staff, and parents, knowledge of subject area, lesson planning and instructional skills, knowledge of child development, strong oral and written communication, computer proficiency.
- Attend in-person classes as scheduled.
- Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the curriculum and student needs.
- Maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with teachers at grade level or subject area to plan instructional goals.
- Assist in selecting instructional materials and implementing school policies.
- Participate in fire drills and emergency preparedness.
- Follow district policies and maintain accurate attendance records.
- Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, and committees as needed.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth through workshops and conferences.
- Complete special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and climbing as needed.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity tasks: operating computer, A/V equipment, copy machines, and telephone.
- Work environment: indoor classroom with heating, occasional air conditioning.
- Potential hazards: communicable diseases, classroom furniture, equipment.
