Compensation and Benefits:

Base Salaryis Per 2025/26 Salary Schedule plus $8,750 Annual Flat Salary Stipend

JOB TITLE:

REQUIREMENTS:

Education Level:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Education or Special Education

Certification/Licensure:

  • Nebraska Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement in Special Education

Experience Desired:

  • Training and teaching experience in areas of regular and special education with emphasis on Intellectual Disabilities, Moderate-Severe/Profound, Multiple Disabilities, Autism, Behavior Disorders

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Rule 51 guidelines for IEP development and provision of special education services, instructional techniques and materials, methods for individualizing instruction, developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Knowledge in behavior modification and management

Director of Special Education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions of each employee’s position includes (1) regular, dependable in-person attendance on the job; (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities and to perform the identified work activities; and (3) the ability to perform the physical requirements on their specific job description.

Basic:

Collaborate and plan with other professionals (with guidance from the Director of Special Education and administrators) to provide necessary and appropriate programming to direct students with special needs and/or disabilities to become competent in all areas of academic and social development. Develop and implement appropriate pre-vocational skills activities.

Frequent:

  • Meets and instructs assigned students at the locations and times designated.
  • Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Develops and manages individual education plans in conjunction with the IEP team.
