Overview

The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the management team in overseeing restaurant operations and personnel during an assigned shift, ensuring company standards are met according to recipes, procedures, quality, timeliness, and guest care.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise employees during scheduled shifts.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and well-maintained restaurant.
  • Resolve guest issues and maintain high guest satisfaction.
  • Follow all company standard operating procedures.
  • Build morale through personal and professional growth; mentor staff to uphold high service standards; develop people through one-on-one development to support execution.
  • Understand and execute all menu items through standards to recipes; maintain cost control and product quality.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service and achieve financial results through established systems and standards.
  • Develop financial performance through business metrics, focusing on sales, COG, labor, and total operating expenses.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education/

Certifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license and car insurance is required.
  • Successful completion of required training, on-the-job checklists, and required quizzes including annual re-certification.
  • NRA Serv Safe food and alcohol certifications preferred.

Experience:

  • 2 years of restaurant or equivalent experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Internally motivated, detail oriented, and committed to teaching others.
  • Ability to grasp and apply new ideas quickly and incorporate them into daily work.
  • Effective communication with team members, guests, vendors, etc.
  • Superior guest service, communication, and listening skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Available to work a minimum of 3 shift leader shifts per period; flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling, sanitation, alcohol safety, safety and security procedures, and computer operations (preferred).
