Job Title

Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Duties
  • Evaluate patient dental health and requirements through screening protocols, including reviewing medical history, performing dental and periodontal charting
  • Provide direct hygiene care following standard dental hygienist protocols
  • Measure and record patient vital signs
  • Conduct standard procedures such as prophylaxis and polishing
  • Capture diagnostic radiographs as directed by the dentist
  • Apply preventive agents including sealants and fluoride treatments
  • Document patient dental history and primary complaint
  • Record and communicate relevant clinical findings
  • Educate patients on preventing caries and periodontal disease via nutrition and effective home care
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments
  • Prepare and complete treatment plans as outlined by the dentist
  • Present treatment plans and associated costs to patients
  • Relay patient questions and concerns to the dentist
  • Serve as lead treatment coordinator
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • Must be dependable and consistent
  • Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene certificate or associate degree program with a valid North Carolina hygienist license
  • Capable of independent decision-making and sound judgment
  • Able to develop, influence, understand, and apply operational procedures
  • Strong team-oriented mindset
  • Proactive, reliable, and punctual
  • Able to perform detailed, repetitive tasks with precision
  • Adaptable to varying assignments with a positive attitude
  • Follows directions and takes ownership of responsibilities

  • Proficient in reading and comprehending safety guidelines, procedure manuals, and written communication
