Job Purpose

We are looking for a Director, Controller for our Fabrication Division. This position reports directly to the VP Finance & Controller, North America. The position will be based in Fremont, California at the Fabrication headquarters.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have strong leadership and management skills to drive important projects for the division as well as mentor and support the finance team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with reviewing accounting journal entries and also diving into cost accounting details, executing profitability analysis, and communicating the results to operations executives. It is essential to have unwavering commitment to financial governance within the Fabrication Division while adhering to SOX requirements and Sanmina's financial policies and procedures.

  • Development of the Finance team in the US plants
  • Drive strategic & tactical business & financial improvements to support the achievement of the plants’ profitability & asset management metrics targets.
  • Provide strong financial/business analysis, variance analysis, and management reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Support cost models to help Division management effectively monitor profitability
  • Continuous improvement of processes and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manages and directs staff to conduct all routine procedures and duties associated with the regional controller organization.
  • Identifies and implements programs that control the corporation’s financial risk.
  • Review and analyze financial information and highlights with the Plant Managers to drive plant profitability.
  • Reviews submitted month end close and management reports.
  • Ensure all US plants are in compliance with SOX controls and applicable company financial policies to support external financial reporting requirements.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; CPA, CMA, or MBA in Finance preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting role with P&L experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience is highly desired
  • Must possess analytical, organizational planning, communication, budgeting and forecasting ability and the ability to work independently in a changing environment
  • Strong presentation/interpersonal skills & ability to deal at an Executive level
  • Experience with fully integrated manufacturing and financial IT systems (Oracle experience preferred).
  • Cost accounting background would be beneficial

Salary Range (annual):

Salary Range (annual): $150,000 - $175,000. Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
