- Design and review reconciliation checks between the general ledger, subsidiary systems and federal draw systems.
- Support annual reporting: GAAP conversion packages, the ACFR and the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), and Single Audit preparation.
- Review federal grant reporting (for example Title I and IDEA), including cash management and period of performance rules.
- Explain findings and recommendations clearly to finance leadership and the technical team.
- Advisory or management experience at a Comptroller, CFO, Controller, finance director or equivalent senior financial management level in state or local government, or as an advisor to that level.
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting: GASB standards, fund accounting, GAAP and budgetary reporting.
- Experience with state reconciliation practices and annual financial reporting (ACFR, GAAP packages, SEFA, Single Audit).
- Experience with federal grants accounting and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- CPA, CGFM or CGMA.
