Come and join the City of Fresno in building a better Fresno! The City seeks a detail‑oriented Senior Account Clerk to manage complex financial tasks, lead clerical staff, and maintain accurate municipal records.
Responsibilities- Maintain complex financial and statistical records, including journals, ledgers, and reports.
- Prepare and process payroll documents and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash payments.
- Process purchase orders and payments, track departmental expenditures, and assign costs.
- Assist with budget development and projections.
- Prepare daily cash reports and bank deposits.
- Provide lead direction to clerical staff.
- Perform related duties as required.
Applicants must have two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in maintaining financial and statistical records.
Work experience section must detail duties, dates, and weekly hours for each position held, specifying experience in financial and statistical record keeping.
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License is required; proof must be provided.

- Retirement:
City of Fresno Retirement System with 5‑year vesting and 10‑year Deferred Retirement Option.
Written examination (multiple choice) will assess knowledge in record keeping, clerical practices, arithmetic, interpersonal skills, office equipment and software, and related items. Candidates must achieve a passing score to qualify for the eligible list.
Testing is scheduled for the week of January 26th, 2026.
