This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit an EDRP application within four months of appointment. The award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application.

Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

• Initial cut‑off date for referral of eligible applications:
  January 2, 2026.
• Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals until positions are filled.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical and psychosocial conditions, health promotion, disease prevention, and overall care management.
• Provide care for the Veteran population with conditions requiring surgical intervention—perioperative and postoperative care.
• Obtain medical histories; perform physical examinations; order diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, X‑ray, and electrocardiograms.
• Request specialty care through consultation.
• Admit and discharge patients in consultation with the collaborating physician.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate medical care for assigned patients in any care setting.
• Document in the medical record as required by medical center policies and procedures.
• Evaluate outpatients to determine the need for further health care.
• Order patient‑care supplies.
• Obtain and document informed consents for treatments and procedures.
• Function as a surgical assist in the operating room.
• Perform perioperative procedures and interventions.
