We are seeking Per Diem and Part‑Time BSN Clinical/Skills Lab Faculty to work with our Workforce Development Partners:
Kaweah Health (Visalia), Sierra View (Porterville), and Community Health (Fresno). This per‑diem position requires fewer than 30 hours per week and reports to the Academic Site Director.
- Provide Skills Lab and/or Clinical site education for students enrolled at the assigned Workforce Development Program site.
- Utilize adult learning principles.
- Plan and supervise student clinical experience in assigned health‑care facilities.
- Assess student performance relative to clinical learning outcomes in accordance with Unitek College policies.
- Provide timely feedback on clinical performance.
- Maintain student records, including attendance and skill‑check‑off forms.
- Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
- Select optimal methods to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
- Leverage online activities to enhance course content during interactive learning.
- Submit required program reports and forms to the Academic Site Director promptly.
- Stay current with innovative technologies and safety regulations.
- Participate in committee activities supporting the nursing program.
- Attend faculty meetings.
- Provide students with accessible communication through office hours, electronic communication, or other methods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid, unrestricted California Board of Registered Nursing license.
- Eligible for instruction approval in Medical‑Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution with coursework in nursing, education, or administration; academic preparation for assigned subject required.
- BSN and enrollment in a Master’s program considered for Clinical Teaching Assistant.
- Minimum four years of RN direct patient care experience, with at least one year in the last five years; clinical teaching in an RN program counts toward direct care experience.
- One year of teaching experience in nursing courses or a course including nursing practice preferred.
- Expertise in one of Mental Health, Medical‑Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, L&D, Community Health, or Critical Care.
- Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage beginning the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.
