Agricultural Business Instructor – Full-Time Tenure-Track

- Hold accountability for closing equity gaps and engaging in equitable practices.

- Support practices that develop culturally responsive teaching environments.
- Strategically build support for equity initiatives across internal and external communities.
- Teach courses in introduction to agricultural business, agriculture economics, agriculture computer applications, agriculture accounting, agriculture marketing, farm management, agriculture sales and communication, agriculture ambassadors and career preparation, leadership, and more.
- Assist in operation of Agriculture Business budget, facilities, and programs.
- Develop Agriculture Business advisory committee and coordinate meetings at least twice a year.
- Provide advice and mentorship for students within the department.
- Participate in recruitment activities with high school agricultural programs such as FFA competitive events and student leadership activities.
- Participate in Program Review and Student Learning Outcome development and assessment to improve student learning.
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of new curriculum and academic programs that are in demand.
- Stay current in the discipline and participate in appropriate professional development activities.
- Increase enrollment and completion, assist students in job placement, and follow up with students in work experience and internship/externship opportunities.
- Serve on and attend department, college, and district committees.
- Assist with development and management of local, state and federal grants.
- Teach assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening and/or weekends, on-line or off-campus and large group instruction classes as needed.
- Otherwise fulfill all duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time equivalent, closely related professional experience.
- Associate’s degree and six years of full-time equivalent, closely related professional experience.
- Valid California Community College Credential.
- Equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
- Experience incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility.
- Recent experience working with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students.
- Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds including students with disabilities.
- Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to support racially minoritized students.
- Related professional experience in agricultural business.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and staff.
- Master’s degree in agricultural business (demonstrated).
- Ability to involve students in leadership activities and serve as co-curricular activity advisor for agricultural student organizations.
- Experience recruiting students and interacting with employers.
- Experience assessing student learning outcomes and incorporating them into program improvement.
- Commitment to professional growth and membership in professional organizations.
- Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
Annual Salary: $71,054 – $106,970 (based on education and experience).
Doctoral Stipend: $2,419.
