Industrial Technology Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)
Madera Community College seeks an equity‑minded Industrial Technology Instructor to join a faculty pool. The successful candidate will teach part‑time Industrial Technology courses on campus and at off‑site community campus locations, applying a variety of pedagogical strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students.
About the Role- Teaching a part‑time schedule of Industrial Technology courses as assigned;
- Using a variety of pedagogies and integrating technology for face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid formats;
- Communicating effectively with students, faculty, and staff;
- Applying approved curriculum outlines and delivering learning experiences that meet course objectives;
- Evaluating student progress through tests, written assignments, oral responses, and other assessments in keeping with course objectives;
- Providing course syllabi to students and maintaining classroom records in accordance with District Policy;
- Turning in all required student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner;
- Teaching assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including classes as needed;
- Fulfilling all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Understanding the importance of closing equity gaps and engaging in equitable practices;
- Reframing inequities as a problem of practice and viewing their elimination as a shared responsibility;
- Encouraging positive race-consciousness and embracing human difference;
- Supporting institutional practices that develop culturally responsive teaching environments;
- Strategically building support for equity initiatives across internal and external communities.
- Evidence of responsiveness to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students;
- Either a Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least two years of directly related professional experience;
- Or an Associate degree with at least six years of directly related professional experience;
- Or a valid California Community College Credential;
- Or the equivalent education and/or experience (requires equivalency).
- Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all responsibilities;
- Recent work with racially minoritized students, understanding historical exclusion patterns;
- Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices for better engagement;
- Professional experience facilitating multicultural communication with cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic diversity;
- Experience supporting under‑prepared and high‑need students, and knowledge of assessment methods;
- Demonstrated collaboration with faculty and staff to enhance instruction, curriculum, and student support;
- Computer literacy for high‑quality instruction and support.
- New hires placed on step one of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
- Salary classification is based on education and experience as outlined in the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Classifications.
- Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
