Join Gallo as a Controls Technician at our Fresno winery and take a hands‑on role maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting plant instrumentation and control systems with minimal supervision. You'll apply and expand your knowledge of PLC and HMI programming, MES, Historian tags, and Kepware while diagnosing communication networks (Device Net, Data Highway, CAN I/O) and using electrical test equipment to keep processes running reliably.
This role executes minor PLC/HMI projects, equipment upgrades, parameter downloads, and instrument calibration while recommending and validating improvements to equipment and control strategies. Some shift work may be required.
As a collaborative problem‑solver, you'll work cross‑functionally with operations, maintenance, and engineering to gather and analyze technical and cost data, present test results, and support capital projects or product commercialization. You'll identify technical issues, propose practical solutions, manage project goals and timelines, and communicate status and roadblocks clearly. Safety, GMP, quality, and environmental compliance are integral to every task, and when accountable for others' work you'll help ensure their understanding and adherence to standards.

- Bachelor of Science Degree plus 1 year of working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment experience; OR 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 3 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State‑issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
- Required to climb stairs and ladders; required to conduct work at heights.
- Knowledgeable of Electrical Safety procedures.
- May be required to work a rotating shift/schedule (e.g., day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10) as well as weekends and overtime.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
- Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
