Job Description

Strategic Technology Institute (STi) is a private engineering contractor founded in 1985. We are looking to fill positions for a long‑term federal government contract. The contract offers a high level of job stability. We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic III to support the 1106th TASMG in accomplishing organizational, intermediate, and/or depot level maintenance and modification work on UH‑60, HH‑60, AH‑64, CH‑47, and UH‑72 aircraft series.

• Lead a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
• Supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported.
• Perform, supervise, and inspect the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs, and IIIs.
• Maintain repairs and modify aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
• Maintain and repair aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applying technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
• Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer’s manuals.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
• Maintain knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and determine functionality of non‑complex electrical systems.
• Utilize aircraft‑specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, sheers, etc.
• Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
• Prioritize workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules.
• Document work in aircraft logs and records and guide lower‑level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and maintenance efforts.

• Thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
• Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and ability to determine functionality of non‑complex electrical systems.
• Detailed knowledge of aircraft‑unique tools (test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, sheers, etc.).
• Experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
• Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules.
• Aviation mechanic experience (not just general maintenance experience).
• Experience working on UH‑60, HH‑60, AH‑64, CH‑47, and/or UH‑72 aircraft series is desirable.
• Military experience and supervisory/team lead experience are also pluses.

All Aircraft Mechanic III positions require aviation mechanic experience, not just general maintenance experience.

Aviation mechanic experience working on UH‑60, HH‑60, AH‑64, CH‑47, and/or UH‑72 aircraft series. Supervisory/team lead experience is also a plus.
