Plant Systems Programmer
Job DescriptionThe purpose of this role is to manage, maintain, and create all plant programmable control systems. The position also involves assisting in the analysis of current programs and managing all plant computer systems.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot all current PLC and computer-related processes.
- Create all new programs, process controls, and computer-related systems.
- Assist the maintenance department in preventative maintenance duties with specific reference to computer processes.
- Assist the engineering department in the development of new processes and in cost reduction projects involving automation.
- Manage and maintain the current computer network system.
- Clearly document for historical use.
- Collaborate with Corporate IT on any upgrades or system modifications.
- Order and specify all hardware and software for all plant systems.
- Manage plant security relative to computer systems, including email, systems access, and passwords.
- Assist the electrical department in troubleshooting or project implementation.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Superintendent, or Plant Manager.
- Travel to other facilities as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of related experience preferred.
- Proficiency with PLC Controls, RS Logix, Wonder Ware, and Microsoft Office.
This position requires work in a 24‑hour plant environment with a scheduled first shift. Some weekend work and on‑call duties may be necessary. The role includes travel once a quarter for 2–3 days.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fresno, CA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37.63 - $46.92/hr.
