We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Engineer to support our Project Management team throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Estimators, vendors, and field teams to ensure project documentation, coordination, and materials are managed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to delivering excellent customer service while upholding our company’s core values.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate project hand-offs between Project Managers and Estimators
- Prepare meeting minutes for project hand-offs, coordination meetings, and pre- and post-construction meetings
- Prepare, submit, and track submittals and re-submittals
- Produce shop and fabrication drawings for assigned projects
- Review manufacturer shop drawings for compliance with project specifications and company standards
- Request and review vendor quotes, lead times, and material availability
- Review project plans and specifications to identify scope changes and communicate updates to the Project Manager
- Maintain complete and organized job files, including purchase orders, RFIs, invoices, emails, and meeting documentation
- Prepare RFIs throughout all phases of the project
- Attend project coordination and status meetings as required
- Serve as a liaison with vendors for material ordering, delivery coordination, and documentation
- Assist with crane pick plans and material ordering as needed
- Support effective field coordination by understanding project scopes and trade interactions
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ year of related construction, engineering, or project coordination experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- AutoCAD:
Ability to navigate AutoCAD and produce shop drawing sets - Computer
Skills:
Proficiency with standard computer applications, file systems, and internet-based tools - Language
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, manuals, and safety rules; write routine reports and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to perform basic math, geometry, and measurements; comfortable reading and using a tape measure - Reasoning
Skills:
Ability to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, and adapt to changing project conditions
