Assistant Electrical Superintendent (Yerington, NV)

Join SOLV Energy as an Assistant Electrical Superintendent, a full‑time role located on a jobsite in Yerington, NV. The position requires travel and involves supervising electrical projects to successful completion.

Job Description Summary
:
This role manages the execution of electrical components across utility‑scale solar projects, ensuring timely delivery, safety, quality, and compliance.

Position Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform all assistant superintendent duties as required.
  • Enforce company safety procedures; lead by example and participate in safety training.
  • Coordinate constructability for the electrical scope of utility‑scale solar projects.
  • Review contracts, proposals, drawings, specifications, schedules, and submittals from pre‑construction to site build‑out.
  • Support preparation and maintenance of project schedules (CPM).
  • Recruit, organize, train, and coordinate field construction teams, including subcontractors and direct hires.
  • Promote quality control by setting high workmanship standards and compliance with specifications.
  • Order and track materials, tools, and equipment to avoid crisis purchasing.
  • Prepare accurate daily reports, time sheets, work orders, and invoice approvals.
  • Participate in pre‑job, progress, and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Assist in start‑up testing, commissioning, and turnover to the owner.
  • Review and process punch lists promptly to ensure project close‑out.
  • Collaborate with the electrical superintendent and site team to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
  • Provide day‑to‑day field leadership; oversee subcontractors and manage multiple crews.
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively to maintain schedule, safety, and quality.
  • Mentor, coach, and train subordinates, fostering professional growth.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for leadership development.
  • Assist in hiring and disciplinary decisions in coordination with project leadership.
  • Verify all work meets or exceeds required quality, safety, and workmanship standards.
  • Support and maintain SOLV Energy’s culture of safety, teamwork, and communication.
  • Assist site teams with RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of commissioning and testing procedures related to solar industry.
  • Act as SOLV Energy’s liaison with owners, subcontractors, and on‑site teams.
  • Collaborate closely with other superintendents and field leaders.
  • Lead and coordinate electrical subcontractors, testing agencies, and commissioning teams.
  • Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain a high standard of electrical safety.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and civil teams to ensure a well‑run project.
  • Travel as required to support multiple project sites (fully expensed).
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
  • Prefer 5 years of field construction experience at a supervisory level.
  • Prefer 3 years of utility‑scale solar experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws, NFPA 70E, and NEC standards and codes.
  • Knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control.
  • Prefer 2 years of utility‑scale solar commissioning experience.
  • Ability to solve problems with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Extensive knowledge of PV solar systems and DC cable systems.
  • Proficiency in underground electrical installations, cable pulling, and direct‑buried AC/DC feeder installations.
  • Experience with inverter skid underground installation, setting, terminations, and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
