Join the City of Fresno as a Parking Enforcement Officer III and lead the charge in maintaining our city's vibrant and orderly streets! In this pivotal role, you'll step into an advanced, hands‑on position where your expertise and leadership skills will drive enforcement of the California Vehicle Code and Fresno Municipal Code. As a key member of our team, you'll provide essential lead direction to staff, manage daily work assignments, and ensure top‑notch compliance with safety procedures.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and supervise a team of Parking Enforcement Officers, including delegating tasks and conducting shift briefings.
- Enforce parking regulations and non‑moving violations in accordance with Fresno Municipal Code and California Vehicle Code.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of citations and enforcement records, conducting field checks for patrol effectiveness.
- Provide clear information to the public about parking regulations, citation processes, and related inquiries.
- Operate and maintain communication systems, including two‑way radios and computer systems for citation processing.
- Patrol areas to enforce street‑sweeping regulations and immobilize vehicles when authorized.
- Report and document faulty parking meters, traffic hazards, and other issues requiring attention or maintenance.
- Assist in research for complaint resolution, appear in court as a witness if necessary, and handle customer issues related to rates and fees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Duties may vary by assignment; please inquire about specific duties if called upon for an interview. Incumbents may be required to work any shift; nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Multiple vacancies currently exist in the Parking Division of the Planning and Development Department. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period for up to a maximum of two (2) years at the City’s discretion. Should the competitive process be suspended for this recruitment, the eligibility list may be limited to three (3) months.

- FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT: IRS 125 Plan for health and dependent care expenses.
- DEFERRED COMPENSATION: Voluntary 457 plan with Fidelity Investments to increase your retirement savings.
- VACATION LEAVE: Accrue 8 – 14.66 hours per month based on years of service.
- SICK LEAVE: Eight (8) hours per month, available after 90 days.
- SUPPLEMENTAL SICK‑TIME: 40 hours per fiscal year. 80 hours lifetime maximum.
- HOLIDAYS: Ten (10) City‑observed annual holidays plus birthday and two (2) personal days.
- SHORT TERM DISABILITY: Provided through California SDI program.
- BILINGUAL PREMIUM: Pay: $100 per month.
- HEALTH REIMBURSEMENT ARRANGEMENT: Eligible retirees can use remaining Sick Leave balance at 80% of hourly rate and other leave balances, if applicable, to reimburse medical insurance and qualified medical expenses, tax free.
