- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
- Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and preventive measures
- Manage workers' compensation claims in alignment with worker's compensation laws
- Supervise EHS staff and contractors to ensure safety measures and protocols are followed
- Collaborate with leadership to develop strategic plans for EHS policies and programs
- Stay updated on industry trends, EHS regulations, and best practices
- Conduct internal audits and lead external audits to ensure compliance with EHS regulations
- Manage hazardous waste in compliance with RCRA and HWCA regulations
- Ensure alignment with ISO certification requirements and promote ISO awareness
- Develop and provide training on emergency preparedness and response procedures
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, Industrial Safety or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, including CAL EPA, RCRA, and HWCA
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in MS Office;
Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus - Valid qualification in occupational health and safety, such as NEBOSH certificate or diploma
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred
- Experience with hazardous waste management and emergency management
- Familiarity with conducting environmental audits and implementing waste reduction strategies
- CPR certification
- Experience managing workers' compensation claims and understanding of worker's compensation laws
