Provide individualized and group services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to support integration in the community. Responsible for developing enriching community activities and curriculum to assist individuals with developing skills of daily living.

- Ensures that the individuals receive appropriate supports to meet their desired outcome.
- Helps build and promote positive community relations.
- Promote and develop enriching activities and community integration at the level desired by the individual.
- Is a role model that demonstrates and ensures inclusion.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily.
- Understands and implements the principles of community integration. Assisting individuals with seeking, attaining and engaging in beneficial activities in the community. Uses appropriate assessment tools to gain a deeper understanding of each individual’s desires, strengths, and challenges.
- Maintains positive relations and builds rapport with members of the community to ensure meaningful relationships are created.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with non-profit organizations (501(c)3) to create and retain future volunteer opportunities.
- Through community resources, individuals are able to engage in community activities, by way of local businesses, and governmental entities to provide enriching opportunities that foster their highest potential outcome.
- Finds and provides community resources to support the individuals we serve.
- Track and document progress daily for billing purposes.
- Collaborates with team members to identify community resources and volunteer opportunities.
- Maintains, creates, and submits a weekly person-centered schedule reflecting and ensuring meaningful activities in the community.
- Completes person centered annual assessments and attends IDT meetings as necessary.
- Maintains and updates individuals’ file(s) to ensure the most current information is available.
- Provides training for individuals in their community to support and promote independence.
- Supports individuals by providing transportation in the community in staff’s vehicle. As well as expanding their presence in the community by seeking other means of transportation, such as bus, paratransit, or third-party transportation services to promote higher independence.
- Take direction and give/receive feedback positively and professionally.
- Develops understanding of the Arc’s services and supports. Responds to individuals’ questions or concerns within two business days.
- Ensures cleanliness and maintenance for both agency and personal vehicles to provide services to individuals in the community.
- Complies with policies and procedures as outlined in the Arc Employee Handbook, including timely and accurately approving timecards, mileage logs, and following all Health and Safety mandates.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education And/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED. Two or more years of experience in serving individuals with IDD, preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
