The Director of Information Security is responsible for informing, planning, and implementing the strategic and operational direction of the organization's cybersecurity program to protect systems, networks, and sensitive patient data. This role ensures enterprise-wide adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements and security frameworks such as HIPAA, HITRUST, HITECH, NIST, and SOC 2.

The Director oversees a team of security analysts and engineers responsible for security-related application technologies, security operations, including SOC monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, identity and access management, and third‑party risk assessment.

This position acts as a senior advisor to the Chief Information Officer, as well as the CHS executive team and interfaces with compliance, legal, privacy, audit, IT infrastructure, and IS application stakeholders to ensure a strong security posture across all functions.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Management Information Systems Security or related field required

Experience

• 10 years of experience managing and/or directing an IT security operations area and/or security monitoring or auditing and compliance experience with at least five years of which were in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting required

Licenses and Certifications

• One or more of the following is preferred
  • CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
  • CISM-SEC - Certified Information Security Manager
  • ACDA - ACL Certified Data Analyst
  • HCISPP - Health Care Information Security and Privacy Practitioner
