The pay range for this position is $16.50-$20.00 per hour, offers will be based on the successful candidate's experience.
Roleand Responsibilities
The Sample Receiving Technician I is responsible for the interpretation of client chain of custody forms, and entry into the LIMS database, using the login functions.
- Follows all established standard operating procedures for the implementation of sample receiving functions.
- Receives samples from shipments and walk-in clients, and completes chain of custody documentation.
- Provides a point of contact information source for clients regarding sampling, bottle orders, and the sample receiving process.
- Enters all chain of custody information into the laboratory LIMS program including bottle and sample information, client information and requests, and selects profiles and tests.
- Completes bottle integrity forms, rush request forms, and prints confirmation reports.
- Organizes and completes paperwork packages, by submission, for review and filing in the in-process submission filing system.
- Scans all containers into the correct storage locations and places said containers in the areas established in the standard operating procedure for sample handling.
Other duties as assigned by department manager such as answering phone calls, assisting client walk-ins and preserving samples.
Education and Experience- Entry-level with no experience or formal training, HS Diploma
- Two (2) years college chemistry or related science and/or equivalent experience a plus
- PC skills required, preferably MS Office applications
