Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Project Safety Manager to oversee health and safety compliance across renewable energy project sites. This role is critical in establishing and maintaining a safe workplace, ensuring adherence to company, customer, and legal standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to mentor a team of safety professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project-specific safety plans.
- Collaborate with construction management to foster a safety-first culture.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure legal compliance.
- Deliver training sessions on safety protocols, equipment use, and accident prevention.
- Mentor and train new safety personnel.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Manage workplace injuries and workers' compensation cases.
- Lead project safety committees and Behavior-Based Safety programs.
- Recommend improvements and preventive measures.
- Maintain and report safety statistics and awareness initiatives.
- 3-5 years of construction safety management experience.
- Proven track record as a safety manager.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Strong skills in report writing, policy development, and risk analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500 preferred.
- CHST designation (or higher) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
- BS in Safety Management or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Frequent outdoor work on uneven terrain.
- May require prolonged sitting, standing, bending, or crouching.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and industrial environments with high noise levels and hazardous materials.
- Approximately 30% office-based work.
