How you make a differenceThe LVN assists and collects data in delivering patient care in a correctional setting, applying the nursing process and directing patient teaching and activities in accordance with education and competencies.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in patient assessment and treatment planning in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act and Correctional Health Services policies.
- Administer medications and implement medical plans as directed by the Health Care Practitioner.
- Respond to emergencies and maintain safety through established protocols and precautions.
- Implement nutrition and therapeutic diets and assist in medical procedures as necessary to meet patient needs.
- Document nursing encounters and communicate information to healthcare staff and supervisory personnel.
Education
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience
- At least one year of clinical experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of employment.
- Current CPR certification.
Additional Details
Per Diem – Day and Evening 8‑hour shifts.
