Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN PRN Nights)

The LVN provides patient care in a correctional setting, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The LVN directs and guides patient teaching and activities in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act (NPA) and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure high‑quality care.

• Assist in patient assessment and treatment planning per the Nursing Practice Act and Correctional Health Services policies.
• Administer medications and implement medical plans as directed by the Health Care Practitioner.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety through established protocols.
• Implement nutrition and therapeutic diets and assist in medical procedures as necessary.
• Document nursing encounters and communicate information to healthcare staff and supervisory personnel.

Education

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

Experience

• One (1) or more years clinic experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state employed.
• Current CPR certification.
