How you make a differenceThe Nurse Practitioner under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site physicians offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients, documents services per policy, and coordinates scheduling and coverage.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and on‑site emergency treatment.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures, including SOAP documentation, formulary usage, and in‑house resources.
- Assume responsibility for individual judgments and actions, reporting concerns to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals.
- Provide input into facility mandatory committees as requested.
Full‑time, 10‑hour shifts (4x10). Work predominantly in a clinic/urgent care setting.
Qualifications & Requirements Education- A graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience; corrections experience preferred.
- Patience and tact to work with the inmate patient population and effectively in a corrections environment.
- Scheduling flexibility to rotate hours and shifts and to be on call during emergencies.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment.
- Current CPR certification.
