The Nurse Manager provides daily oversight of the schedule, monitors department productivity, day to day operation, completes employee evaluations and performance/feedback, regularly meet with team members, round with patients daily, oversee hiring and position management, staff recognition and provides support in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager.

Salary Range

$56.19 - $84.29 (Depending on Experience)

Exempt, Monday - Friday, hours vary

Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program
  • Two (2) years of nursing leadership experience preferred
Required License and Certification
  • Current California Registered Nursing License
  • ACLS and BLS Certificate required

Essential Functions
  • Oversee administrative and operational functions of the Preop/PACU/PAT departments, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, productivity standards, and quality goals in collaboration with leadership and staff.
  • Manage and direct patient care, ensuring safe and effective nursing practices, proper staffing, and timely recruitment to meet patient and organizational needs.
  • In collaboration with hospital leadership and frontline teams, set quality goals and performance indicators.
  • Ensure staffing meets established goals by closely monitoring the staffing matrix. Develop and implement action plans for any deviations from the matrix, and ensure all staffing data is accurately reported and tracked in the electronic database for real‑time analysis and decision‑making.
  • Ensure the timely entry of dashboard items and closely track deadlines. If expectations or due dates cannot be met, escalate issues promptly to the next‑in‑line leader to ensure timely resolution and accountability.
  • Oversee patient care to ensure it meets organizational standards and evidence‑based practices.
  • Provide staff guidance, support, and professional development through effective communication, conflict resolution, and performance management, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and 1:1s with all staff quarterly.
  • Implement and encourage closed‑loop communication by providing monthly stoplight reports to keep staff informed on key performance metrics, action items, and progress toward departmental goals.
  • Promote ongoing education and professional development by collaborating with the hospital educator and holding staff accountable for participation.
  • Collaborate with educators and multidisciplinary teams to ensure staff education, patient care planning, and continuous improvement initiatives are aligned with evidence‑based practices.
  • Act as a clinical resource and lead effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Resolve conflicts, negotiate solutions, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Appropriate and timely escalation of quality or clinical concerns to next‑line leader.
  • Other duties as assigned.
