About
The Role
Are you an experienced Travel RN passionate about pediatric care and community health? We are seeking a flexible, skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse for a day-shift assignment in Montpelier, VT.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Care & Triage:
Provide immediate, high-quality nursing care for acute illnesses, injuries, and emergencies occurring on campus - Medication & Care Plans:
Administer prescribed medications, oversee treatment schedules, and manage individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions or special needs - Health Screenings & Compliance:
Coordinate immunization records, execute health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.), and manage community referrals in compliance with state standards - Education & Promotion:
Educate students, families, and school personnel on health promotion, disease prevention, and hygiene practices - Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of student visits, treatments, and incident reports in the electronic health record (EHR) and school health logs - Community
Collaboration:
Liaise with local health departments, primary care providers, and families to coordinate care and track vaccination compliance
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with prior school health or pediatric experience
- Active, unrestricted RN License in the state of Vermont (or active multistate/compact license)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or School Health Nurse certification preferred
- Prior nursing experience in pediatrics, school health, or community health nursing
- Proficiency with EHR systems and standardized health record-keeping
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) or Pediatric Nursing Certification (CPN)
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages)

School campus environment during regular daytime school hours - Schedule:
Day shift (Monday–Friday) with standard school calendar hours - Impact:

Location: Montpelier, VT
Job Type: Full-time / Contract (Travel RN)
Shift: Mondays & Fridays | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST (14 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $726.88 / day
