Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Dairy, the Dairy Sales Trader will be responsible for driving commercial growth through strategic sales and trading of dairy commodities. This role focuses on building and nurturing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions that meet evolving market needs. The successful candidate will combine deep market insight with strong negotiation skills to execute contracts effectively and maximize profitability.

Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the Dairy Sales Trader will ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and contribute to the long‑term success of the dairy business.

Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy and Execution
  • Support the execution of the Dairy business trading plan.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to refine sales approaches.
  • Collaborate with the trading team to align product offerings with market demand.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, serving as their primary point of contact.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by understanding customer needs and delivering tailored dairy solutions, including regular business reviews.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights into dairy trends, sustainability initiatives, and market developments.
  • Manage the credit and counter party exposures within prescribed limits.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with supply chain, customer service, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and product quality.
  • Develop a knowledge of dairy ingredients and applications to enhance your strategic partnership with customers.
Reporting and Analysis
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Use data‑driven insights to identify gaps and opportunities in the market.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma is required. A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, Food Science, Marketing, Ag Business, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • Four (4) years of experience in sales is required; dairy or food ingredients industry is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship‑building skills are required.
  • Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable strategies is required.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite;
    Python is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams is required.
  • Adaptability in a fast‑paced and dynamic business environment is required.
  • Experience in credit management is desirable.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and building long‑term relationships is required.
