We’re seeking a motivated Agriculture & Water Treatment Sales Representative to develop and manage relationships primarily with farmers, growers, farm managers, and agricultural operations throughout the San Joaquin Valley.
This is an opportunity for someone with a genuine background in agriculture who understands that water quality is essential to crop health, irrigation efficiency, and farm productivity. The successful candidate will help growers identify water-related challenges and implement practical, effective treatment solutions.
You will be responsible for developing new business, managing customer relationships, and helping farmers and growers address agricultural water quality and treatment challenges.
The ideal candidate will understand the unique water conditions affecting agriculture throughout the San Joaquin Valley, including:
- Agricultural irrigation systems
- Groundwater and surface-water quality
- Hard water, mineral deposits, and scaling
- Salinity and other water-quality concerns
- Irrigation efficiency and system performance
- Biological fouling and water-treatment challenge Golden mussel (Limnoperna fortunei) infestations and their impact on irrigation systems, water infrastructure, and farm operations
You will work directly with growers to understand their operations, identify water-treatment needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and build long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and grow sales throughout the San Joaquin Valley
- Build and maintain relationships with farmers, growers, farm managers, agricultural operations, and irrigation professionals
- Understand customers’ crops, irrigation practices, water sources, and operational needs
- Identify water-quality and treatment challenges affecting agricultural production
- Recommend water-treatment solutions based on specific water conditions and customer requirements
- Educate growers on treatment programs, prevention, maintenance, and system performance
- Conduct farm visits, water assessments, product demonstrations, and customer consultations
- Prospect for new agricultural accounts while maintaining and expanding existing relationships
- Monitor regional water-quality trends and emerging challenges affecting San Joaquin Valley agriculture
- Work closely with technical and operations teams to deliver effective customer solutions
- Maintain accurate customer, sales, and territory records
Required:
- Professional background or experience within the agriculture industry
- Sales experience in agriculture, irrigation, water treatment, agronomy, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of San Joaquin Valley agricultural water conditions
- Understanding of farming operations, irrigation systems, and agricultural water use
- Ability to communicate technical information in a practical, grower-focused manner
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and consultant sales skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable managing a large geographic territory
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the San Joaquin Valley
- Must currently reside in the San Joaquin Valley and have Valid California driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, agricultural business, plant science, soil science, water resources, or a related field
- Existing relationships with farmers, growers, farm managers, or agricultural businesses in the San Joaquin Valley
- Experience selling water-treatment, irrigation, agronomic, or agricultural products
- Knowledge of groundwater and surface-water challenges in the region
- Experience addressing biological fouling and invasive-mussel issues
- Familiarity with Golden mussel infestations and their impact on irrigation infrastructure and agricultural operations
- Experience conducting field assessments or evaluating agricultural water systems
