ThePosition
As Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead a technical team responsible to create, maintain and optimize production processes, ensuring high-quality product output, cost efficiency and safety compliance. You will oversee facility layout, equipment installation, lean-manufacturing initiatives and manage budgets, project timelines and staff. You will ensure clear communication with other departments such as safety, quality, production, finance, supply chain, R&D, repair and others.
MainResponsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team by recruiting/onboarding, setting goals, coaching, and conducting performance reviews to ensure the right skills and capacity to execute projects and daily support.
- Deliver manufacturing engineering results versus plant priorities by translating site objectives into a clear Manufacturing Engineering roadmap, assigning owners, and tracking milestones to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
- Develop and sustain standard engineering practices by defining best practices, training teams, and harmonising methods across lines/areas to improve execution consistency and reduce operational risk.
- Align stakeholders through operating cadence and communication by leading tier meetings, KPI reviews, and escalation routine to ensure fast decisions, clear accountability and predictable performance.
- Govern problem-solving and continuous improvement by setting standards (A3/8D), removing roadblocks and validating the effectiveness of actions to reduce scrap/rework, improve FPY/OEE and stabilise processes.
- Ensure robust process control and compliance by enforcing documentation discipline (work instructions, control plans), audit readiness and change-control governance to maintain repeatability, traceability and customer/regulatory compliance.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline) to understand manufacturing processes, tooling and shop-floor constraints.
- Relevant experience of 10-15 years in manufacturing/industrial engineering or process engineering, including 5+ years leading teams with demonstrated delivery of process improvements and/or product launches.
- Previous experience in an aerospace environment (AS9100-level rigor).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring or leading engineers.
- Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems and drive design decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programmes and projects, including cross-functional coordination.
