Tex™ for visual applications, Bcomp is looking for an experienced R&D engineer in dyeing and finishing of fabrics. This person will be in charge of managing customer sampling activities in dyeing field and will participate to the development and industrialisation of dyeing process for our automotive applications. The individual will thus work closely with our sales and customer team, other process experts, suppliers and with our teams in operation and quality.
Sampling Activities In Dyeing Field
Main Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the Sales and Automotive Customer Support teams to understand customer requirements, technical expectations, and application needs.
- Select suitable technologies, treatments, and colours based on customer requirements, including colour accuracy, UV resistance, durability, and compatibility with different polymer matrices and composite manufacturing processes.
- Prepare clear technical requirements and specifications for samples, prototypes, and development trials.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure that samples and prototypes meet the defined requirements and are delivered within the agreed timelines.
- Conduct internal sampling and development activities in the company’s dyeing laboratory.
- Support industrialisation activities in close collaboration with other members of the R&D team and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Define specifications and quality requirements for serial production.
- Provide on-site technical support to suppliers to establish reliable and repeatable processes, including the execution of process capability studies.
- Work with the R&D team to investigate the relationships between raw materials, dyeing processes, composite manufacturing processes, and the resulting colour performance, including colour stability and resistance to colour change.
- Contribute to the development of new colours, the improvement of process reliability, and the reduction of the environmental and economic impact of dyeing processes.
- Degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of textile treatments, dyeing, and finishing processes
- Experience with natural fibres, yarns, and composite materials is an advantage
- Fluency in English is required;
German, French, or Italian would be a strong advantage, and any additional language is a plus - Ability to work autonomously while proactively sharing relevant information with the team
- Structured and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and customers simultaneously
- Ability to establish, optimise, and continuously improve processes
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset when supporting customers and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to travel as required
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teams
- Positive, proactive, and energetic mindset, with a solution-oriented "everything is possible" attitude
