POSITION OBJECTIVE
This temporary position will be asked to conduct nature center programs, aid in care of captive animals, develop curricula, and present programs onsite and offsite.
Applicants for this position have the option of applying for Spring/Summer positions (2/23/26 - 8/21/26 and 3/30/26 - 8/21/26), Summer only positions (5/27/26 - 8/21/26) or Summer/Fall positions (5/27/26 - 11/22/26).

Winter
Hours:
8:00 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m.
Typical schedule for this position is expected to be 40 hours per week. Schedule includes one weekend day per week during school year, and some weekend days during the summer.
Essential Job Functions- Develop, conduct, and market environmental education curricula & programs including summer camp.
- Develop, conduct, and market other environmental education programming.
- Help to maintain exhibit animals including reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
- Organize and lead a variety of small group activities as developed by the Springbrook staff. Activities may include hiking, nature explorations, crafts, games, canoeing, archery, stream and pond hikes, and art and drama activities.
- Complete other assigned operational tasks before and after programs such as clean up and room preparation.
- Provide fun and engaging activities outdoors.
- Identify and respond to camper behavioral issues.
- Communicate with parents regarding campers' experiences and daily activities.
- Respond to inquiries by telephone, email and in person concerning a broad spectrum of natural resource information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in interpretive or summer camp programming with youth.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Bachelor's degree in Natural Science, Environmental Education, or related field.
- Ability to be imaginative and innovative in programming with youth.
- Experience in care and programming of live animals.
