The Para educator is a district employee who is primarily engaged in direct interaction with one or more pupils for activities according to district-approved curriculum and teacher-approved plan for the student, physical or behavior management, inclusion or other activities.

Salary RangeStep 1 at $22.50/hr to Step 5 at $26.00/hr, placement will vary depending on education and experience. View salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above, accessible via our Master Agreements page.
Qualifications- Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Education, Fridley Public Schools must meet highly qualified requirements. Therefore, upon hire, all hires must be Highly Qualified – Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education;
Minnesota’s standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR - An Associate’s (or higher) degree;
Minnesota’s standard:
An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree - Received a passing score on the Para Pro Assessment
