Role Summary

The Installation Projects Manager is responsible for ensuring all services under their control during assigned projects and/or installations are executed consistent with written agreed upon purchase orders and/or signed agreements. Responsible for all the processes and activities involved with executing the highest quality installations and or reconfigurations at target profit margins. The Installation Projects Manager also serves as the one-point of contact to professionally plan and manage any assigned installation project(s) from inception to completion.

The Installation Projects Managers primary responsibilities also include overseeing field services quality control, apprentice training and evaluation of all field activity. This is a hands‑on, working leadership role that includes directly performing installation services.

  • Build rapport and open communication with customers to fully understand move goals, priorities, and objectives.
  • Ensure positive customer and stakeholder experiences throughout all planning and services.
  • Develop client process documentation to ensure standardized execution.
  • Serve as lead project manager on large projects.
  • Develop service request and project scopes of work, operational plans, and implementation strategy.
  • Serve client facing role both in daily operation and in face‑to‑face meetings.
  • Provide complete management of services and projects through timelines, budgets, coordination, supervision and effective communication to all team‑members.
  • Plan, coordinate and prepare services to ensure high levels of customer service, efficiency of field crews and maximize profitability for GWS.
  • Ensure that levels of service, quality of work, and completion dates are met.
  • Track cost of services and projects in progress to ensure we remain within budget and work closely with the billing personnel to track daily cost.
  • Communicate effectively with all point people, contractors, operations, customer service, project managers, vendors, customers and sales representatives.
  • Develop, implement and administer a training apprenticeship program for all new installation staff or sub‑contractors.
  • Provide continuous feedback to the Program Manager and teammates on all services.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all manufacturers and models of systems furniture.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the efficient installation of all manufacturers and models of systems furniture.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of installation documents and designs.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Data / Communication involvement in a project.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Electrical involvement in a project.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Information Systems involvement in a project.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Commercial Movers’ involvement in a project.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Designers and/or Project Managers’ role in a project.
  • Create timelines, scopes and project schedules for all trades and contractors involved.
  • Effectively manage all trades and contractors involved in a project.
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings.
  • Consistently and accurately communicate and execute throughout all activities. Contain costs through efficient use of resources and proper financial planning.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and Departmental Manual.
  • Accept and perform additional job duties, assignments, or projects as directed by your immediate Supervisor or management for the betterment of the Company.
