Overview
We are a Minnesota based family-owned business with a location in Fridley seeking a mechanic. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, understanding of diesel repairs and hydraulics, is detail oriented, has a strong work ethic, and is willing to help out where needed.
1st Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm (approximately 40-60 hours per week)
2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12am (approximately 40-60 hours per week)
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 sign-on bonus and industry-leading benefits. 2nd Shift pay differential, generous technician referral bonuses, monthly incentive bonus program, weekly pay, overtime, 401(k) with company match, $50,000 life insurance policy, room for growth.
Wage: $27-$38/hr (varies based on skillset and experience)
Responsibilities- Install new hydraulic systems on heavy-duty trucks (wet kits).
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems on trucks and other mobile equipment.
- Occasional service calls to troubleshoot systems or perform testing.
- Occasional disassembly of hydraulic components (pumps, motors, valves and cylinders) to identify the cause of failure; replace defective parts, reassemble and test.
- Occasional hydraulic power unit assembly from drawings and schematics.
- Fabrication of frames, brackets and general work with structural steel; welding and use of plasma torch, band saws, hand tools, tub bending equipment and general shop tools.
- Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
- Ensure final work product meets quality standards and maintain a safe, clean work area for customers and co-workers.
- Willing to float to where shop demand is and work as a team player.
- Great work ethic and willingness to jump in and help out where needed.
- Mechanical aptitude and/truck mechanic experience a plus.
- Team player; previous warehouse, shipping and receiving experience a plus.
- Strong computer skills; friendly, courteous with a can-do attitude; attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; reliability and dedication to hard work.
- Ability to learn and apply skills; ability to work independently while maintaining a safe, efficient environment.
