As a Surface Finishing Technician, you will play a critical role in enhancing the durability and performance of precision components for high-stakes industries like aerospace and medical. Responsibilities- Execute complex surface finishing operations, including electroplating and anodizing, to achieve precise coating requirements.
- Prepare substrates through meticulous cleaning, degreasing, and masking to guarantee superior finish adhesion.
- Manage and optimize plating bath chemistry by monitoring concentrations and making necessary adjustments to maintain process stability.
- Conduct thorough quality inspections to verify that finished components align with technical blueprints and industry standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on finishing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Document production metrics and process variables to support continuous improvement and operational transparency.
- Maintain a safe, organized workspace by strictly adhering to environmental and safety protocols.
- 3+ years of professional experience in industrial plating across multiple finish types.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading blueprints and utilizing precision measuring instruments.
- Solid understanding of chemical handling, plating equipment, and surface preparation techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot process issues independently.
- Intermediate mathematical proficiency for chemical calculations and process monitoring.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional production teams.
