American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN with Mental Health Suite experience to join a Level 4 trauma teaching hospital, requiring MN RN licensure and at least 1 year of ER experience.
Requirements- Active or pending MN RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
- Experience in general emergency department care for combined adult/pediatric populations required
- Cardiac monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including starting and maintaining IVs required
- Must provide date of birth, SSN, copy of certifications, Nursys verification, and RTO at time of consideration
- At least one supervisor reference required for consideration
- Minnesota-specific fingerprinting (Live Scan) required as part of state background check process
- Work in the Emergency Department, specifically the Mental Health Suite
- General emergency department setting serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Patient ratios of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
- Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) schedules available
- Weekend rotation required every third weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to Mercy Hospital - Coon Rapids and within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
- Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system
- Provide emergency nursing care within a Mental Health Suite as part of a Level 4 trauma teaching hospital
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Acute care hospital with 149 staffed beds
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since their last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem)
- RTO ideally should not exceed 5 days
- Facility does not accept local candidates; a 100-mile radius restriction applies
- Pre-start modules are required and average 8 hours to complete
- References are not provided by the facility to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
